 about

linn osnes

Born and raised in Norway, Linn lives most of the year in sunny             Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her husband Rolv and daughter Sofie.

After a long and fulfilling career in the travel industry, Linn veered off the path to embark on a new journey that incorporated all of her life experiences with a long-standing passion for art and design. She went on to study the art of printmaking in Oslo, Norway with Bjorn Kaaks, known for his woodblocks, while working with Susan Hansen, renowned for her beautiful watercolor paintings.

Through that exposure and tutelage she developed a collective love for both techniques, blending the two into what has become Linn's signature design.  Her work is primarily in woodblock, but she also layers atop with watercolor and acrylic and when the two techniques are combined, the art takes on a life of its own with her positive energy flowing through.  Her Scandinavian design ethos feels clean but modern and warm.  She utilizes a trained but natural eye for good design, capturing nature, animals and the human form in themes that are concrete, but abstract and fun. Her art has graced the walls of simple cabins, rambling estates and luxury yachts and has been featured in various shelter magazines and on HGTV. She is represented at several galleries in Europe and the United States and has received several awards.  She also donates her work to various charities.

To fully round out the spectrum of her capabilities, Linn attended and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with a degree in Interior Design.  Her interior work incorporates the virtues of her art… clean, modern and warm… with an eye for color and scale and a little surprise mixed in.

"Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant, there is no such thing. Making your unknown known is the most important thing”
